Nachvak Fjord

Saglek Bay

[Saglek Bay](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saglek_Bay) opens onto Torngat Mountains National Park in northern Labrador — a wilderness of soaring fjords, granite peaks, and Inuit heritage of profound depth. The bay's scattered islands hold archaeological sites of the Maritime Archaic, Dorset, and Thule peoples, and the surrounding waters attract humpback whales, polar bears, and caribou to a landscape of monumental scale.

Hebron Fjord

Hebron Fjord extends 45 km inland on the Labrador coast and is one of the region's largest fjords. The fjord's waters hold drifting ice floes, and polar bears, seals, and beluga whales may be encountered.

Hopedale / Agvituk

[Hopedale](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopedale,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador) in Newfoundland and Labrador was originally named Agvituk, the Inuktitut word for Place of Whales, before German Moravian missionaries arrived in 1782 and renamed it. The Hopedale Mission, now a National Historic Site of Canada, is a complex of striking black-and-white German-roofed buildings including a mission house, storehouse, and church. In 2005, Hopedale was established as the legislative centre of Nunatsiavut.

Red Bay

[Red Bay](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bay,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador) on Labrador's south coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the world's most significant Basque whaling station. Dating to the mid-16th century, it is considered the site of the first large-scale whale oil production in history. Underwater excavations have revealed four Basque galleons and smaller vessels, making this one of the most important maritime archaeological sites in the Americas.

Cape Forchu Lighthouse

Yarmouth, on Nova Scotia's Acadian coast, is a quiet town of lobster fishing and coastal scenery. The French Acadian heritage is expressed in the Acadian flag, the Festival Acadien, and a culinary tradition built on seafood and French-Canadian flavours. The Yarmouth County Museum and the lighthouses of the Fundy Shore offer a distinctive Maritime character at odds with busier Nova Scotia destinations.
